About Katie
Katie Humphries writes stories about ordinary people forced into self-examination and transformation after witnessing a shocking event. Her stories, set in Florida and the Pacific Northwest, explore individual identity, familial and romantic love, and power within relationships.
She has an MFA in Creative Writing from the Rainier Writing Workshop at Pacific Lutheran University, an M.A.T. in English as a Second Language from Georgetown University, and a B.A. in English from Davidson College. She has taught English at the university and high school levels, as well as abroad in Poland with the U.S. Peace Corps.
Currently, Katie splits her time between Northern Florida and the Seattle area. In 2023, she attended the Bread Loaf Writer's Conference as a contributor in fiction.
